“It’s Your Duty To Be Ready” – This is the motto of the Walther Performance Duty Pistol, a promise of high quality and readiness for professional use. As with the original, the slide of the CO₂-operated airgun is optics-ready (OR) and can be used with red dot sights with Vortex, Leupold, C-More and Trijicon footprint when fitted with optionally available adapter plates. It comes out of the box with iron sights, with the rear sight being adjustable in windage. The high-quality metal slide, exact dimensions and efficient NBB system are a promise of long-lasting shooting fun. A Picatinny rail on the dust cover allows mounting of accessories, the trigger safety prevents accidental firing, and the piercing tool for the 12-g CO₂ capsule is integrated in the backstrap. The additional sliding safety enhances the overall security.
-
One of the most popular Walther pistols in the Umarex range has been improved: The Walther PPK/S with a metal slide now has a new piercing mechanism for the CO₂ cartridge – it’s invisible when the gun is seen in profile. The required Allen key is part of the grip plate and is therefore always at hand. The heavy slide generates a noticeable blowback effect.
-
With the Walther PPQ M2 there’s no need to compromise. It combines the features of firing pellets and a blowback slide. Realistic recoil is combined with maximum precision. Unlike many other models, the PPQ M2 feeds the 4.5 mm pellets from its magazine by means of a chain. Besides accommodating a 12 g CO₂ cartridge, the magazine has space for 21 rounds. The slide jumps back with every shot, producing a strong recoil. A rifled barrel ensures tight groupings. In appearance this CO₂-powered airgun cuts a good figure alongside modern service pistols, with original dimensions, a heavy metal slide and a polymer frame with non-slip Hi-Grip surface.
-
The Walther PPQ M2 Q4 TAC should be the first choice for precision, realism and tactical flair. The Q4 TAC features an innovative chain magazine that holds 21 pellets that can be fired through the PPQ M2s rifled 4.6" barrel. This barrel is included with a thread for the addition of a silencer. The air pistol gets its realism from its strong blowback effect that produces a clearly noticeable recoil. It also has a very realistic weight which can be great for providing a well balanced hold when firing. This Walther PPQ M2 Q4 Tac Combo comes equipped with a red dot sight.
-
The Walther PPQ has a number of features that enhance its safety and accuracy. The HI-GRIP surface finish in the grip area ensures quick, safe handling. This authentic replica has the same cylinder magazine system that has made Umarex CO₂-powered airguns so popular all over the world for decades. An adjustable rear sight and Picatinny rail under the muzzle give users many ways to adapt the Walther PPQ to their requirements.
-
More than just an air pistol, the Q5 Match from Walther has been engineered as a precision tool designed to maximise precision and provide shooters with a CO2 pistol of the very highest quality. The trigger of the Q5 match is of the very highest quality, crisp and responsive, and of far greater quality than would usually be expected of a CO2 air pistol. The gun comes equipped with a RDS8 dot sight for added accuracy.

The Walther Reign M2 combines the features of a full-size rifle with a compact, athletic body – a genuine bullpup. And as the name suggests, it lays claim to the throne in the air rifle world. The second generation of the Walther Reign builds on the success of its predecessor. Trimmed for lightness right from the start, the Reign M2 retains the weight-optimized design of the original model. With a weight of less than three kilograms, it remains first and foremost one thing: featherweight. The stock is made of robust polymer, and the Picatinny rail is machined from high-strength aluminum. the Reign M2 is a true featherweight, but when it comes to precision, it delivers heavyweight performance. That’s because the Reign M2 takes full advantage of its bullpup design. The magazine sits at the height of the cheek piece, leaving room for a rifled barrel that takes up 500 mm of the total 665 m length. The barrel, precision-manufactured by Lothar Walther, has very low vibration thanks to its robust design and has a 1/2" UNF thread for a silencer. Power is supplied by a capacious 230-bar compressed air cylinder with integrated pressure gauge and quick-fill adapter. With its reversible, easy-to-use cocking lever, the Reign M2 is perfect for fast, accurate shooting by left- and right-handers alike. The quick-detach sling mount allows attachment of a carry strap on either side.

DO I NEED A LICENCE TO OWN AN AIRGUN?
In England, anybody over the age of 18 can buy an airgun, as long as it is below the legal power limit of 12ft/lbs for an air rifle, or 6ft/lbs for an air pistol.

HOW DO I FILL UP MY PCP AIRGUN?
Many people use either hand pumps or dive cylinders. These are both effective ways to fill up your PCP air rifle. Hand pumps have been used since PCP’s were first invented and take a fair amount of effort and pumps to fill up your gun to 200 bar. Dive cylinders are newer and require much less effort to fill your gun. Simply attach the hose to your fill adapter and slowly open your valve to fill your gun. Recently, a new way of filling has come onto the market in the form of compressors. These are expensive bits of kit that require a fair amount of maintenance, but they mean that you have the convenience of filling up your gun without worrying about refilling your dive cylinder.
SHOULD I GET A.177 OR .22 CALIBRE AIR RIFLE?
This is the age-old debate between owners, which is better – the .177 calibre or the .22. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but both are very effective in what they do. For target shooting, the general consensus is that .177 is better, as the pellets are smaller and the trajectory is flatter, so they are a bit easier to shoot and see the results on card. It is a great calibre to use for hunting too, with lots of shots per fill, and it really does do the job when you are out on the field.
However, the main argument is for hunting. 22 calibre have bigger pellets, which means they have a bigger impact and carry more weight when shooting. The main downside is that a bigger and heavier pellet will have a more curved trajectory when shooting, so it is harder to adjust at longer distances. If you can account for that difference, then .22 is a great calibre to use.
To summarise, they are both great calibres, and both take getting used to – learning each guns and calibres capabilities. Both will get the job done, so it is really down to personal preference over anything.
WHAT IS THE BEST AIR RIFLE?
The best air rifle is different for every person, given what style they like, the price and their ability. Each person has their own unique style and preferences – so this is not something that we would be able to answer.
In terms of usability, quality and consistency, we rate the Daystate Red Wolf highly, but this is a high end PCP air rifle, which comes at a high (but well worth it) price. If you are starting out or haven’t shot an air rifle since you were a kid, then something like a Crosman Shockwave starter kit would be an ideal gun to help you get into the sport. It is a well-made and consistent quality air rifle, which doesn’t break the bank.
WHERE AM I ALLOWED TO SHOOT MY AIR GUN?
You are permitted to shoot on your own land, as long as no pellet leaves the boundary of your property. If you shoot at a target near the edge of your land, and the pellet ricochets and lands in your neighbours land, this is breaking the law.
You can also gain permission to shoot on other people’s land, but this has to be confirmed with the land owner, and again no pellets must leave the boundary of the permission. It is always best to get written confirmation to remove any doubts.
You are not allowed to shoot on any public property, including parks, public places or any land you do not own (other than a permission).
There are numerous shooting grounds and clubs dotted around the country, where you may be able to shoot, regardless of ability.
WHAT TYPE OF PELLET GUNS ARE THERE?
A pellet gun is what it says on the tin. It is a gun which can shoot pellets, commonly airguns. These can be split up into different types, consisting of Spring Powered air guns, gas piston air guns, precharged pneumatic airguns, pneumatic air guns and CO2 air guns.
Spring Powered Air Guns
Spring air rifles, or springers, contain a coiled spring inside the chamber, which is compressed when you cock the gun. When you fire, the spring decompresses and pushes a piston, which forces air to propel the pellet out of the barrel.
Gas Piston Air Guns
Gas Piston Air guns are similar to springers, but instead of a coiled spring, there is a gas filled cylinder. So, cocking the gun pressurises the air in the cylinder, and pulling the trigger decompresses the air, and propels the pellet.
Precharged Pneumatic Air Guns
Precharged Pneumatic Air Guns are new technology of airguns and contain a cylinder with highly pressurised air. This is normally around 200-250 bar depending on the gun (your car tyre only has around 2-2.5 bar). PCP air guns are virtually recoilless and are very high powered. However, they do have to be filled externally via hand pumps, air cylinders or compressors, which can be expensive to use.
Pneumatic Air Guns
Pneumatic Air Guns, or variable pump guns have a piston and a cylinder, which is compressed by pumping the gun. Each pump gives the gun more power, up to a limit, which gets stored in the cylinder. Pulling the trigger uses the pressure stored in the cylinder to fire the pellet.
CO2 Air Guns
CO2 Air Guns work in a similar way to PCP air guns, but instead of containing a cylinder with highly pressurised air, they use separate CO2 cartridges. When you fire, this releases a small amount of CO2, which pushes the pellet out of the barrel.
WHAT ARE AIR GUNS USED FOR?
Air guns in the UK have various uses, including target shooting, pest control, and recreational shooting. They are commonly used for small-game hunting and plinking.
HOW MUCH IS AN AIR GUN IN THE UK?
The cost of an air gun in the UK can vary significantly depending on the type, brand, and features. Entry-level air rifles can start at around £200, while high-end models with advanced technology can cost over £1,000.
WHAT IS THE MOST POWERFUL AIR GUN AVAILABLE?
The most powerful air guns in the UK are typically precharged pneumatic (PCP) rifles. These rifles can generate high muzzle velocities, but it’s essential to adhere to legal power limits when using air guns for hunting.
CAN I LEGALLY DEFEND MYSELF WITH AN AIRGUN IN THE UK?
In the UK, air guns are not considered suitable for self-defence. The law strictly regulates the use of firearms for self-defence purposes, and air guns are primarily designed for recreational and sporting activities. Using an air gun for self-defence can lead to legal consequences.
