Building on the success of the ‘Thumbhole’ version of the R10, BSA have designed the new, Mono-block side lever, regulated R12 CLX Pro to maintain the classic and much-loved Thumbhole stock. Maintaining the core benefits and features of the Ultra CLX and utilising the Sidelever action launched exclusively in the 160th Anniversary Ultra CLX, this new gun combines the key features and benefits into their new Flagship model. As ever BSA will present the R12 CLX Pro in one of Minelli’s quality made stocks. This latest thumbhole variant will be available in both walnut and black pepper laminate. Designed, developed and manufactured at their Head Quarters, in Birmingham England, they have taken advantage of the very best in new design and prototyping processes and facilities, the benefits of this new PCP are easily seen when compared to its ancestor the R10 TH, and no doubt other competitor products. With over 50,000 test shots put through their specially designed automated test equipment, they truly have put this new PCP through its paces. Throughout this process, BSA have kept the core values of the ‘R10’ firmly at the forefront of their minds.  Engaging with the expert designers at Minelli in Italy to ensure we jointly delivered a stock design that was clearly a “BSA Thumbhole”. The achieved result completely met the brief. Building on the success of the much-loved R10SE, BSA have carefully designed the new R12 CLX Bolt action to not only enhance the classic features of its predecessor but also to add key benefits and improvements that allow this new variant to achieve even greater levels of performance. Key changes introduced for the all new R12 CLX Bolt Action include the use of their now tried and tested Mono-block platform which reduces components, complexity and improves reliability and efficiency. As this is a CLX model it uses a 12-shot magazine system with the additional safety features of a ‘cocked’ indicator, and following vociferous consumer feedback opposed to the current trend for side levers, for this model they have installed BSA’s cherished bolt action.  Air efficiency has improved with an all-new regulator, and BSA have maintained the standard 200cc air bottle for this model. Changes at the fore end of the stock mean that for the first time, a larger 280cc or 400cc bottle can also be used without any modification. Also, by adjusting the position of the pre fitted Sling studs, a Bi-pod can now be fitted without interfering with the position of the Quick fill system. Using higher graded materials and components such as stainless-steel pellet probes and a clearer, larger pressure gauge that makes reading air pressure in the rifle easier, these new features all go towards a PCP air rifle that keeps the spirit of the R10SE but shares very few components from its predecessor. In fact, the only major components that are shared are the trigger and trigger guard, and because it is a BSA, they fit their world-renowned hand chambered, crowned and choked cold hammer forged barrel……possibly the most accurate barrel available. The CLX magazine is 12 shot and includes a shot countdown window ensuring you have full visibility and control of how many shots you have left. An additional magazine is also supplied inside the sales package. The R12 CLX Bolt Action comes fitted with a CCS (Customer configurable shroud) system, allowing the choice of either a shrouded silencer, or for those wishing to use a larger diameter ‘scope’, the CCS can be customised to remove the shroud and utilise only the ‘Silencer’ part of the system with all the required components supplied in the box.
